Manmohan Rules Again

After months of dillydallying and bowing to alies, and being pilloried by the opposition and the press alike, the PM finally unleashed a blitzkreig of reforms on Friday night - including the much debated permission for FDI in Retail, preceeded by an unexpected but very much needed 10% hike in the prices of diesel.

And overnight, from being toasted on a fire, Manmohan has become the toast of the nation, and especially the press.

From Coalgate, all attention is now on the positive news, and the RBI is expected to follow suit on Monday with a rate cut, widely expected to push industrial sentiment.

With the monsoon having recovered pretty well, and the festive season coming up, the Congress seems to have played its cards perfectly - just in time for the election season!

Has the BJP again lost a golden opportunity?
