Espacios De Vida - Part III, The Kitchen

Growing up in an old house meant a kitchen with chulas and smoke and grime. Hence, a spanking clean kitchen was uppermost on our wish list. We also love to cook. Breaking down the walls separating the kitchen from the corridor gave the kitchen an open and spacious look and added space.

A black theme for the modular kitchen is unconventional, but looks very sophisticated. Along with the main 4 burner hob, we also added a built in BBQ with Lava stones. A Elica chimney keeps the kitchen smoke and odour free.

On the opposite side, a large black refrigerator perfectly complements the decor. The granite top includes a ceramic hot plate, for those countless times when we forget to get the cylinder refil on time! The dish washer in the far corner has never even been tested, and is supposed to be an insurance against the eventuality when our Bai will ditch us and run away, which we have been fearing for every day for the last 11 years she's been working with us :)

This fancy light fitting doubles up as a mirror over the basin in the corridor.

Outside the kitchen, on the corridor wall is my NOC - my wireless router, my broadband modem, and the DVR and power supply for the Zicom cams installed to keep an eye on the cat when we are away!

My God! You should consider renting out half of your refrigerator to a needy vampire! lol
