National Identities

Got this SMS forward addressed to a certain political leader in Maharashtra...

A Chandigarh lad, a Jharkhand captain and a Delhi boy won the World Cup for us and dedicated it to a Maharashtrian legend. What do you have to say on this?

His regional discrimination was nonsense to begin with. And, it stayed that way, as just pure nonsense. He took to the streets then, morchas, protests etc. Now that India has won, shouldn't he be in the streets again, dancing with joy, this time? :-)
He is awfully quiet if you ask me.

I also feel that in India, cricket is not just a sport. It is a religion that brings together everyone who loves the games, no bias of state, religion, economic capabilities, whether you own a small table tv or the big screen deal. You are Indian, you stop everything, and you watch. I am so proud of every Indian who left their worries behind and worried for India on saturday. And, I am proud of every Indian who cried with the players after they won. Shame on anyone who divides India based on which state you're from. Being Indian, isn't that enough?
