Decisions..

How do you make those critical choices? How do you decide what to do and what not to do, especially when you have two or more alternatives - usually with emotional ramifications?

Choose heads or tails. Toss a coin. Before it comes down, you will know what side you want to come up.

That's the right decision for you!

Always works for me!

There have been some interesting studies wherein scientists did some tests on a human whose so called emotional brain had somehow dies but whose so called rational part was intact. What they found was the brain was unable to make any decisions at all ! since then an interesting theory around how emotions and the decision making (so called rational part of us)are tied very strongly together. Google for insula and somatic marker hypothesis if interested ...

You know I kinda agree with what zephyr is saying here - your emotions are closely linked wit your decisions. Decisions are really just choices that we make, right! And these choices are expected to do what - make us happy, give some kind of satisfaction? But the bottom line is, happiness satisfaction are all states that are associated with your emotions in a way. And unless you can tap into that, you won't be able to make desicions that you can really stick with or make peace with. Yeah.. That's what it is :)

Let me put it this way - when you think rationally, you really cannot always take decisions, especially when the heart says one thing and your head says another.

When the coin goes up, you stop rationalizing, and your heart tells you what you really want! :)

And that's usually the right decision to make...
